Our definition of high volume production, which is close to batch production, corresponds to our low volume production, refers to a certain production quantity (tens of thousands to millions), which can meet the continuous and stable demand of multiple shifts and longer periods (24 hours/day, at least 5 days) production. For our production process, high volume production has higher requirements for the tooling which needs high performance and long life to ensure continuous and stable operation, and need consider the matching with robotic automatic or semi-automation production. This method produces products with high precision, good dimensional consistency and low cost, which is the inevitable choice for mass marketing of products.
Plastic injection molding and metal die casting are both suitable processes to give full play to the advantages of high volume production, because the preparation time of production is relatively fixed, and the normal life of the tooling used in production is between 100,000 and million. For these two production processes, high volume production means higher quality, lower cost and less waste generation, thus more efficient and environmentally friendly.
