How to Produce Plastic Products?

Plastic products are the general name of life, industry and other articles processed with plastic as the main raw material. Including plastic as raw materials, injection molding, plastic absorption and other products of all processes. Plastics are a kind of synthetic macromolecule materials with plasticity.

The production of plastic products generally includes plastic ingredients, modeling, mechanical processing, joining, decoration and assembly, etc. The last four processes are carried out after plastic has been formed into products or semi-products, also known as plastic secondary processing.

The key link of plastic forming processing in the production of plastic products. Various forms of plastics (powder, granule, solution or dispersion) are made into products or blanks of the desired shape. There are more than thirty methods of forming. Its selection depends mainly on the type of plastics (thermoplasticity or thermosetting), the initial shape and the shape and size of the product. Extrusion, injection molding, calendering, blow modeling and thermoforming are commonly used methods for processing thermoplastic. Molding, transfer modeling and injection modeling are commonly used for processing thermosetting plastics. Laminating, modeling and thermoforming are the processes of plastics forming on a flat surface. The above plastic processing methods can be used for rubber processing. In addition, there are liquid monomers or polymers as raw materials such as casting. Among these methods, extrusion and injection modeling are the most widely used and the most basic modeling methods.

Machining of Plastic Products

By using plastic processing methods such as metal and wood, plastic products with very precise sizes or small quantities can be manufactured. It can also be used as an auxiliary process for forming, such as sawing extruded profiles. Because the properties of plastics are different from those of metals and wood, the thermal conductivity of plastics is poor, the coefficient of thermal expansion and modulus of elasticity are low. When the clamp or tool is pressed too much, it is easy to cause deformation, melt easily when it is heated and adhere to the tool. Therefore, when plastic is machined, the cutting tools and the corresponding cutting speed should be adapted to the characteristics of plastic. Commonly used mechanical processing methods are sawing, shearing, punching, car, planer, drilling, grinding, polishing, thread processing and so on. In addition, plastics can also be cut, punched and welded by laser.

Joint of Plastic Products Production

The methods of joining plastic parts in plastic processing are welding and bonding. Welding methods include hot air welding with electrodes, hot melt welding with hot poles, high frequency welding, friction welding, induction welding, ultrasonic welding, etc. Adhesion method can be divided into flux, resin solution and hot melt adhesives according to the adhesives used.

Surface Modification of Plastic Products

The purpose of surface modification is to beautify the surface of plastic products. It usually includes mechanical modification, i.e. removing burrs, burrs and modifying the size of the parts by means of filing, grinding and polishingfinishing, including coating the surface of the part with paint, brightening the surface with solvent, coating the surface with patterned filmcoloring, including painting, printing and hot stamping; metal plating, including vacuum coating, electroplating and electroless silver plating. Plastic processing hot stamping is to transfer the color aluminium foil layer (or other pattern film) on the hot stamping film to the work piece under heating and pressure. Many household appliances and building products, daily necessities are used to obtain metal luster or wood pattern.

Assembly of Plastic Products

By means of bonding, welding and mechanical joining, the finished plastic parts are assembled into complete products. For example, plastic profiles are assembled into plastic window frames and doors by sawing, welding and drilling.

Before producing plastic products, it is important to know the material of plastics such as POM, PET, HDPE, PVE, LDPE, PP, PS, PC, etc. Yea Lin can make the injection mold according to the above mentioned plastics.
