What is Pad Printing?
The pad printing process is an indirect gravure process for printing on most of type and shaped form materials.
The following are the unique properties of the pad printing process:
Printing almost independent of the shape, e.g. concave, convex, curved parts;
Printing on uneven or structured surfaces, even into hollows;
Possibility to print mechanically sensitive products.
There are many advantages of Pad Printing which compared to other printing process:
Adaption to a variety of substrates, almost any material can be printed with suitable inks;
Ability to print fine subjects, the resolution is far better than that of screen printing;
Depending on the selection of high resistance of printing inks, the printing was achieved high resistances against mechanical abrasion or chemicals;
Multi-color wet in wet printing, apply multiple prints without intermediate drying to short tooling-up times;
Plates and inks can be exchanged within a few minutes, low set up cost;
Compared to other printing machines, pad printing equipment is very small, low space requirement, easy handling and little maintenance;
In the simple case, air drying at room temperature is sufficient, low drying cost.
